Sound Transit announced that it will be holding a series of workshops as part of the process of designing the preferred alternative for East Link, which is "Sound Transit’s voter-approved project to build light rail between Seattle and Overlake."
The Sound Transit Board of Directors recently identified a preferred East Link alternative with eastside stations serving Mercer Island, south Bellevue, downtown Bellevue, Bel-Red, Overlake and downtown Redmond. (The line connects to Seattle via I-90 and is expected to serve 40,000-50,000 riders daily by 2030.) Open to the public, each workshop will focus on the neighborhood preferred route and station for each location.
