Eastside Business Journal reports that Bellevue City Council candidates will discuss public safety, heliport comprehensive planning and financing for light rail at a livability town hall meeting on Sept. 29. Open to the public, the event will be held from 7-9 p.m. at 121 106th Ave. N.E. in Bellevue (to attend, R.S.V.P. to le.terpstra@comcast.net).

The forum is sponsored by Heli-Stop, a group of Bellevue citizens advocating for "responsible heliport policy." According to the group's site, confirmed panelists include candidates Betina Finley, Jennifer Robertson, Vicki Orrico and Michael Marchand.

The candidates will discuss:

1.  How to maintain safety in neighborhoods with growing populations.
2.  Why the city needs to prepare a comprehensive heliport study before approving private heliports in our neighborhoods.
3.  How will the city decide who bears the burden for the cost of light rail tunnel in downtown Bellevue. Homeowners? Businesses?
